Cycle Sport Management and the St. Catharines Cycling Club are excited to announce The Jordan Engineering Steve Bauer Classic presented by St. Davids Hydroponics.
On Saturday, May 19th, road racing cyclists will travel into the Town of Pelham from all over Ontario, Quebec and the eastern U.S.A. to compete in the newly named Jordan Engineering Steve Bauer Classic p/b St. Davids Hydroponics.
The 33-year history of the race continues to evolve and grow every year. This year Jordan Engineering, a Niagara based systems integrator, takes the leading sponsorship role. Presenting sponsor St. Davids Hydroponics, as well as additional contributing sponsors and partners, have all reconfirmed their engagement to champion the growth of the Steve Bauer Classic.
When asked about the race's newest supporter, Steve Bauer commented "Jordan Engineering joining the Steve Bauer Classic as lead sponsor is fantastic news and we welcome them to our team. We sincerely appreciate and thank all of our sponsors and partners who recognize the value in the efforts made to provide a quality road race opportunity for Canadian athletes. This year's event will be the best in history!"
Jordan's CEO Sandra Buffett is equally as enthusiastic about this year's partnership. "We donate half of our profits back into our local and international communities and are always looking for local events or organizations to support. The Steve Bauer Classic aligns well with things we encourage in our employees - goal-setting and achievement, the pursuit of fitness and the maintenance of work life balance. We've been sponsoring our employees' involvement in running, cycling and swimming races for many years now, so joining the Steve Bauer Classic team seemed like a natural fit."
Contributing sponsors include Auto FX Graphics, The Humberview Group, Liberty Bicycles, Front Row Sports Excellence, Bike Fit, George de Groot Laser Grading & Excavating. The event would be impossible without our partner, the Town of Pelham. Giordana will provide Steve Bauer Classic yellow jerseys for the winners of the Elite and Junior categories.
Maintaining tradition, the finish line of the 2018 races will be on top of the renowned, challenging Saylor's Hill on Effingham Street, which reaches a maximum grade of 14.8%. The stage is set to provide racing excitement all day for family, fans, residents and spectators to enjoy.
Wally Tykoliz, President of St. Catharines Cycling Club (SCCC) added; "The SCCC is pleased to provide support in the growth of the Classic each year. We are enthusiastic to do our part and be a leading example for the road racing community in Canada."
