Fraser Update

Gord Fraser e-mailed to give us an update on the wrist injury he suffered at the Tour de Langkawi (in a first stage crash).

"Yes, I have indeed been bothered by the wrist since I've been home. I went to get X-rays on Wednesday last, and they discovered a fractured schapoid. No surgery is needed and no cast either, although of course the best healing would be to cast it. I'm not too bothered with it, and have chosen to carry on with my season. I still have to tape it while riding, and various twists of the hand will make it hurt.

No real problems however and I'll be doing Visalia, Redlands and Sea Otter as planned."

Manitoba Mountain Bike Courses
(courtesy MCA)

A Mountain Bike course has been scheduled for Friday, March 16th, 6pm -9pm.

This course will be designed to train new Commissaires in the area of Downhill, which includes dual and slalom, events that the MCA is now sanctioning. All current Commissaires are encouraged to take this session, as it will be required for races where these events are included. Anyone new to officiating will receive a Provincial 'D' accreditation.

A full day cross-country course will be offered for provincial level commissaires on Saturday, March 17th from 9:30 -3:30. Both of these courses will be held at Whyte Ridge School, 400 Scurfield Blvd.

Both courses will be offered free of charge to MCA Members. Non-members will be required to pay a fee of $ 35.00.
