Hi - quick note to ask your help in squashing rumours that the Bastion Square Cycling Festival is not dead! It is happening this year, Saturday Mt. Tolmie RR and 2nd Annual Community Ride, Saunders Subaru Saturday Night TrackFest, and the 10th (!!!) Sunday crit at Bastion Square. No hill climb this year. Registration forms will be available soon and the information will also soon be up on www.pacificsport.com/bastionsquarecyclingfestival. (Note: we have been asked to provide online registration again, and that will be posted soon)
There has been a change of leadership as Lister Farrar has stepped down from the committee. He will be helping with 4 a.m. Race set up though! The Bastion Square Cycling Festival Race Committee, and PacificSport ˆGreater Victoria, is hard at work with the likes of volunteers Sharon White, Bill Hapgood, Mark Shepard, Susan Denny, Claire Bonin, Mark (former Physical Culture owner) and others. They, like all good events, do need volunteers to help out in many capacities, so if you know of anyone who‚d like to help they should email cbonin@look.ca
So, book that weekend and here‚s to another great event - part of the Times Colonist Three Waves Series!
Track Nationals, Edmonton
The Track Nationals website is now up at track2001.isCool.net.
