The Marketing & Communications Intern, working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager, is responsible for a variety of activities pertaining to public relations, social media, public relations, merchandising, fundraising, and event marketing and coordination at Cycling Canada. The selected candidate must have a self-starter attitude with an interest in learning marketing and communications within a National Sporting organization.
• Digital & Social Media
- Be an active part of Cycling Canada's social media strategy
- Create posts and digital content
- Review analytics and create reports
- Update website
• PR
- Update media lists & Mailchimp platform
- Edit and review press releases
• Events
- Assist with coordination and delivery other Cycling Canada events where needed
- Coordinate with National Team athletes
- Coordinate media accreditation for select events
• Marketing and promotion
- Actively participate in the development of the advertising strategy for the Track World Cup and the 2020 Para Track World Championships
- Assist in the development of brand identities
• Manage the online store and Cycling Canada merchandise
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing (ongoing)
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Mastery of the French language (written and oral) preferred
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to perform in a changing and fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with the main social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Experience with WordPress, Photoshop, Indesign or Illustrator (an asset)
Start of internship: May 6
End of internship: August 16
Work schedule: 3 days per week
Length of internship: 15 weeks
Deadline to apply: April 12
Salary: Monetary compensation for internship fees
Other information: Flexible start and end dates. Possibility of extending the internship
