We are very sorry to report that long time Ontario commissaire Al Norley has passed away, on Sunday, April 14th. We knew Al for many years as the time keeper for races in Ontario, especially time trials. In the days before chip timing, Al was the most accurate timer there was, with stop watches in both hands - he once said to me that there was less than a tenth of a second difference between his left and right hands for timing.
After he retired from working at major races, Al continued to work at Newmarket Eagles club events, where he was known as 'Father Time'.
We do not yet have any details on funeral or celebration plans.
Our best wishes to Al's family and friends.
