The fourth event of the Gravel Cup, the Walsh Wiltshire Renfrew Randonneur, was held on Saturday, July 27th, in the foothills of Ontario's Highlands. Hot temperatures did not deter the 143 participants, who found lots of respite in the shaded portions of the course.
Natasha Elliot (Trek Hyperthreads) made it four-for-four in the women's event and now has a commanding lead for the overall yellow jersey. Rounding out the podium was Jennifer Stephenson (nine2fivepro) and Emilie Fortin (Velo Peak Centre).
Derrick St. John (Trek Hyperthreads) won his second Gravel Cup in a row, after riding away from a bridging Doug Van den Ham (nine2fivepro), and keeps the overall yellow jersey. Steve Chapman (nine2fivepro) finished third.
The next event and Series finale, the Wheelers Lanark-Lombardy, will be held on Saturday, September 7th, followed by an encore event on Sunday, September 8th, the KIN Vineyards Fall Grally.
