Solano Bicycle Classic, California

David Cathcart from the Intersports team was happy to call us up and let us know that his team is now 2 for 2 at the Solano Bicycle Classic in California. Cathy Marsal took the second stage road race in a final 500 meter attack on the lead breakaway, which also included overall race leader Anne Samplonius of Intersports.

A group of 4 went away approximately a third of the way through the 117 kilometre second stage - Marsal, Ina Teutenberg and Petra Rossner (both Saturn) and Marjon Marik ( They were joined by Julie Young (, Kim Bruckner (Saturn) and overall leader Samplonius, and then by another group of 5 in the final 25 kilometres.

Marsal attacked with 1 kilometre to go, was brought back and attacked again in the final 500 metrers, holding on for the win. Samplonius continues to hold the yellow jersey.
