The UCI has announced that the Para-cycling Road World Cup in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, has been cancelled for 2020:
In the context of the current pandemic (Covid-19) linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the UCI must announce that the second round of the 2020 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup, which was due to take place in Baie-Comeau (Canada) from 5 to 7 August, has been cancelled at the request of the organisers.
The UCI and the organisers cooperated throughout the process, initially seeking a postponement of the event, before resorting to taking the difficult decision to cancel this UCI World Cup stopover. The UCI shares the disappointment of the para-cycling community, and acknowledges the concerted efforts made by the organisers, Canada’s National Federation for cycling and the local authorities in these difficult circumstances.
The UCI issues a reminder that the opening round of the 2020 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup, initially scheduled for 27-30 May in Castiglione Della Pescaia (Italy), has been postponed due to the current crisis. The UCI is working with the Organising Committee in Italy to set a new date in line with the possibilities on the UCI International Calendar.
