A group of Quebec riders, led by Leandre Bouchard, Catherine Fleury and Elliott Doyle, raised $23,000 for the Fondation Hôtel-Dieu d'Alma on Friday (May 8th), by completing a 'virtual Everesting'.

Everesting is riding (in a single ride) until you have done the equivalent vertical distance as the height of Mount Everest (the world's highest mountain) - 8850 metres / 29,028 feet / 5.5 miles - and virtual Everesting (vEveresting) is doing it on Zwift. Guest riders, including James Piccoli, joined them for hour long segments of the ride.

"It took 11 hours of pedalling on my trainer," said Bouchard.  "It was a big effort, but we are really happy about the support we had from our community and to give back to Fondation Hôtel-Dieu d'Alma, a foundation for our local hospital in Alma, and Opération enfant soleil, an organization in Quebec that supports kids with medical issues."
