Cycling Canada has just announced that the 2020 Canadian Cyclo-cross Championships have been cancelled. Scheduled for November 21-22 in Langford, on Vancouver Island, "As a result of continuously evolving public health guidelines, Cycling Canada has made the decision, in conjunction with Cycling BC and the Wheelhouse Cycling Society, to cancel the 2020 Canadian Cyclo-cross Championships and Bear Crossing Grand Prix," said Cycling Canada in a statement.
Cycling Canada said that the organizers will retain their two year sanction, and will host the 2021-22 editions of the Nationals.
At this point, the only remaining 2020 event on the national calendar that has not been cancelled is the Elite/Junior/Under-17/Para/Masters Track Nationals, scheduled to take place at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, Ontario, on November 26-30. Cycling Canada will make a decision on whether that event will take place before the end of September.
