German-based online bicycle company Canyon has finally entered the Canadian market as of today - March 16th. The company has built its reputation by selling direct to consumer and has been in the U.S. for some time, however, it will now sell direct to Canadian customers - when you visit the Canyon.com website, it now takes you to a site with Canadian pricing.

Importantly, given the ongoing shortages affecting the market, Canyon shows which models are in stock (most appear to be in our searches), and is saying it will deliver in 1-2 weeks, on average. They say that their direct-to-consumer model offers lower prices, and every model also offers payment plans.

They offer a wide variety of bikes across Road (Race, TT/Triathlon, Gravel, Endurance, Cyclo-cross), Mountain Bike (XC, DH, Enduro, Fat), Hybrid and City. At this time, the E-Bike range is not available while they work through Canadian regulations (which are a hodgepodge of provincial rules). They have partnered with mobile bike service provider Velofix for service and warranty work.

Part of their move into Canada has involved sponsoring Emily Batty's new team [see Emily Batty's Canyon MTB Racing Team Officially Launches], and they also sponsor Canadian downhillers Mark Wallace and Jakob Jewett on the Canyon Collective Factory Team. Of course, they are also well-known in road and cyclo-cross circles for their sponsorship of Mathieu van der Poel.

Interestingly, I could not find a single bike model on their website that would fit me, according to their fit system. I AM tall (1.96m), but I've always been able to find bikes from pretty much any brand, so maybe there is a problem with the algorithm?
