Sydney Olympian Czeslaw Lukaszewicz just dropped us a note to let us know that he has signed on with the Polish 3rd Division Servisco team. He will do UCI races in Poland including Course de la Prix (the Peace Race - 2.3 UCI). Czeslaw has promised to keep us updated through the season.
Take The Challenge!
Brace yourself for the ride of your life!
Imagine riding from the heart of Melbourne for well over 1000 kilometres to finish with a grand entrance into the Bicycling Australia Show in Sydney.
Along the way, the Bicycling Australia Challenge will take you through historic National Trust gold mining towns - country where Ned Kelly and other bushrangers once rode. Absorb the fresh springtime air, scented with eucalyptus gum, as you ride from the magnificent Murray Valley through the Snowy Mountains, towards Mt Kosciuszko and beyond. Climb Australia's highest peak. Visit Canberra, the Nation's capital, with a group photo in front of Parliament House. Ride through the beautiful Southern Highlands before descending the spectacular Macquarie Pass overlooking the Illawarra rainforest escarpment and the Pacific Ocean.
We will tend to your daily needs and spoil you with choice accommodation and evening activities including a celebration to remember on the final night.
You‚ll be taking the quiet bitumen roads, away from heavy traffic for as much of the distance as possible.
After morning tea on the final day you‚ll be joined by 1,000 other cyclists for the final kilometres to the Bicycling Australia Show at Rosehill Racecourse.
By taking part you‚ll be supporting Teen Challenge, a charity which rebuilds the broken lives of young men caught up in drug and alcohol addiction.
Many other cyclists will ride the Bicycling Australia Challenge in future years, but only one small group will ever be able to say they did it first. Are you ready to take up the challenge?
The Bicycling Australia Challenge is a non-competitive charity fundraising ride from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia. It will be held from Saturday 13th October to Sunday 21st October 2001.
