Scott Factory Downhill pro Florent Payet is out of the first round of the Downhill World Cup in Leogang, Austria, with an injury that will send shudders through male riders. Payet, who documented the incident in gruesome detail on Instagram, was training on the course when he got offline and hit one of the fibreglass poles that mark the edge of the course. It whipped back and hit him between the legs.
Despite the pain, he rode the rest of the course, but when he was checked back at the team pits, found out that his scrotum had torn and, in his words, 'some spare parts were hanging out that should have been tucked away safely'. He was rushed to hospital and into surgery.
He says in his post 'The surgery was a success and the boys are back where they should be. :)'.
