The 2023 Nations Cup opened Thursday evening with qualifying for the women's and men's Team Pursuit. Three out of four Canadian teams qualified for Friday's First Round. In the women's competition, Canada A qualified fourth, 2.323 behind top qualifier Great Britain. Canada B, setting a personal best, qualified for the eighth and final spot with a time of 4:24.181.

In the men's competition, Canada B was the first team to ride, setting a personal best time. Unfortunately, it wasn't fastest to qualify for the next round, but Canada A finished fourth, setting a faster time then at the world championships last Fall. The Australian team qualified first.
