Bikes Stolen in Montreal

Montreal is living up to its reputation as a bike theft capital, with the British women's team having bikes stolen after the Montreal World Cup. The thieves knew exactly what they were after, and stole the Trek team bikes of Yvonne McGregor and Ceris Gilfillan from the team truck in the McGill University Bishop's College parking lot. These custom bikes are very noticable, in red, white and blue. Please contact the police if you see them.


Victoria Youth Triathlon

The annual Victoria Youth Triathlon will be held on Sunday, June 17 at the University of Victoria. This is a qualifier event for the BC Junior Triathlon Team, and young athletes are coming to race from throughout BC.

At the Victoria Youth Triathlon boys and girls aged 7 to 17 will swim, bike and run around the University in a safe and exciting introduction to triathlons. It takes skill, strength and staying power to complete a triathlon. Participants also include relay teams from local schools and clubs. All participants receive finisher medals and T-shirts.

Participants should register as soon as possible! Many provincial triathlons are filling up well ahead of race day. The entry date for T-shirts is June 8. Entry forms are available at most local recreation centres and running shoe stores.
