The final round of the UCI Nations Cup begins today [Friday] at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton. The event is also the last one for nations to collect qualifying points to gain Olympic spots for Paris, so a total of 49 countries and some 300 athletes are registered.
Team Canada, fresh off the Pan American Continental Championships last weekend in California has brought both its 'A' squad and a Development team. The team still needs to lock down qualification in some events, including both the women's and men's Team Sprint. The women need to beat France and the men Poland and Czechia.
Today, competition begins with qualifying for the team events - Pursuit and Sprint - in the morning session, with the medal finals in the evening, as well as the men's and women's Elimination races.
We have posted interviews with Kelsey Mitchell, Lily Plante, Chris Ernst, Tyler Rorke and the Madison team of Michael Foley and Mathias Guillmette Here.
