Vollering Takes it All
The list of achievements of Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime) at this year's La Vuelta Femenina include two stage wins, including the queen stage. The polka dot jersey of the Mountains classification, the Red jersey as overall winner, and leading her team in the overall classification.
Winning the final stage only cemented her overall lead with Riejanne Markus (Team Visma-Lease a Bike) and Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) rounding out the final podium along with the real and absolute victor of the event. Marianne Vos (Team Visma-Lease a Bike) took the Points classification, while Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) was awarded the white jersey as the race's most aggressive rider.
Top Canadian on the day was Magdeleine Vallieres (EF Education-Cannondale) who also claimed the overall top Canadian.
