This ride is about more than just cycling - it's about building safer roads and healthier communities. It's a mission rooted in the story of our founder, Eleanor McMahon.
In 2006, Eleanor's husband Greg, an Ontario Provincial Police officer, was killed by a careless driver. Out of that tragedy, she founded the Share the Road Cycling Coalition, channeling her grief into action. With years of experience working alongside two Canadian Prime Ministers and an extensive network in politics, she took a strategic approach: studying successful cycling advocacy models around the world and identifying what Ontario was missing.
Her work has transformed cycling safety in the province, influencing policies that make streets safer and setting a model with far-reaching impacts - even beyond Ontario.
