The Canadian National Team selected to compete at the 2025 Tissot UCI Track World Championships has been announced. The Championships will take place on October 22-26 in Santiago, Chile. A total of 16 athletes (7 women, 9 men) covering both the Sprint (2 women, 4 men) and Endurance (5 women, 5 men) will travel to Chile.
The 2025 Tissot UCI Track World Championships will be held at Santiago's Velódromo Parque Peñalolén, known for hosting elite international events and widely regarded as one of the premier cycling venues in Latin America. National team athletes will compete across sprint and endurance disciplines, with a mix of returning World Championship contenders and rising talent.
The Canadian team heading to Santiago brings a proven record of international success, including World Championship titles in endurance events, Olympic and Pan American medals in Sprint disciplines, and strong finishes in Team Pursuit. With podium experience across Scratch, Keirin, and Elimination races, the roster reflects a history of strong performances and consistent top ten placements at recent international competitions.
"This World Championship in Chile marks the return to the highest level of several of our top athletes following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It also represents the beginning of a new cycle, during which the next generation of riders will look to challenge the veterans who have shone over the past few years," says Franck Durivaux, National Team Coach and Track Sprint Lead. "In every discipline, the Canadian athletes will be eager to proudly represent the maple leaf and to achieve the best possible results on the Santiago track, a venue that some of them already know well, having performed there during the 2023 Pan American Games."
