Applications for the 2026 Global Relay Bridge the Gap Fund grants are officially open!

Since 2012, Global Relay Bridge the Gap has been helping Canadian riders reach the forefront of professional cycling. Over the years, we have supported hundreds of athletes in chasing their dreams - whether that's earning a spot on a WorldTour team or representing Canada on the biggest stages of the sport.

2026 Application Categories

Athlete Grants: Open to Canadian Cat 2 or above road cyclists aged 19–25 (men) and 19–29 (women) with ambitions to turn professional. Exceptional Juniors (men and women) will also be considered.

New for 2026, applicants are asked to complete power testing and include results with their application (see the BTG Advocacy program for details on the test protocol). Athletes are also asked to submit a budget this year, outlining anticipated season costs.

Mentorship Program: Connecting Canadian riders with past and current pros who want to give back. Spots are limited, so we encourage all interested Junior/U23 athletes to apply. All athlete grant recipients will also be invited to join the BTG mentorship program. Interested in becoming a mentor? Please email info@btgfund.org to help guide the next generation.

Special Project Grants: Supporting clubs, teams, projects, or programs that bring aspiring young Canadian racers to international events. Provincial team projects may also be considered. Grants are open to U19, U23, and elite athletes up to 25 years old, with preference given to U19 and U23 initiatives. Event organizers can also apply for projects that create racing opportunities for young Canadian riders.

How to Apply
Applications are open now through November 15th and can be completed online through our website. Successful applicants for the 2026 program will be notified early in the new year.

Global Relay Bridge the Gap fund is proud to help Canadian riders to reach the forefront of Professional cycling. Please share this information with anyone who could benefit from our support.
