A trail building workshop will be held at Kelso Conservation area in Milton (Hwy 25 and 401, west of Toronto) during the weekend of August 17,18,19. The workshop will focus on techniques to build durable, dirt surface trails that stand up to weather and heavy traffic with minimal maintenance. If you are in any way involved with trail maintenance or construction, you should attend this workshop. A slide show and seminar presentation about trail construction and layout techniques will be followed by hands-on work sessions to build or repair sections
of trail at Kelso.

The workshop will be led by Rich & Jen Edwards, who are full-time professional trail builders. They are supported by the International Mountain Bike Association, and by Subaru of America, as they cross North America to teach the proven techniques of trail building to interested clubs and associations.

The Kelso event is their only stop in Ontario, so please give strong consideration to attending.

The workshop is hosted by Conservation Halton and supported by the Ontario Cycling Association. The workshop is being conducted by volunteers on a non-profit basis, and any revenue after costs will be used to support future trail work projects.

This event is a rare opportunity to learn from recognized experts in the field, and put their techniques to practical use right away on a real project. The knowledge and skills you carry away from this workshop will help you and others in your club or association to improve the quality and durability of your own local trails for years to come.

Details about the event are posted on the website:
