Canada Cup Final - Sun Peaks, BC
Anne-Marie Jobin (QC, Durand Sport) held off a last lap challenge from Jean-Ann McKirdy (BC, Olympia) to take the Canada Cup Final and the overall title. McKirdy moved up from third past a tiring Sophie-Anne Blanchette (QC, Sobe-Head Shok) into second and came within inches of catching Jobin at the line.
"I could see her coming up at the end of the second lap. I took it easy on the first climb (of the last lap) and sprinted up the last climb. I was confident that with my technical skills there would not be much room for her to pass me on the descent."
Saturn Cycling Classic
Over the top of the Kenosha Pass climb Mike Barry, Burke Swindlehurst, Jonathan Vaughters and Chris Horner were joined by Chris Wherry. Floyd Landis is chasing at about two minutes and the next group is more than 7 minutes back at the 175 kilometre mark.
