University of Western Ontario MTB team

The University of Western Ontario will be starting a mountain bike club this fall. The team will be participating in all of the University Cup series races this fall. Anyone with a bike can come on out and ride with us. We will be holding a first meeting at the beginning of September and any UWO of affiliated students are welcome to come out!

Cycling British Columbia, the governing body for competitive cycling in BC, is seeking Technical Directors for its Road and Off Road Sectors. The job postings for the individual positions are listed below:
Technical Director, Road Track and Cyclo-Cross
Reporting to the General Manager and the Road, Track and Cyclo-Cross Committee, the Technical Director will be responsible for fostering and further developing all aspects of road, track and cyclo-cross racing in BC including:
1) the coordination of technical needs of athletes, officials and race organizers
2) the administration of Cycling BC programs & BC Teams
3) athlete, coach and official development
4) managing and servicing corporate sponsorship relationships
Technical Director, Off-Road
Reporting to the General Manager and the Off-Road Committee, the Off-Road Technical Director is responsible for fostering and growing the disciplines of cross-country, downhill and dual slalom. Primary responsibilities include:
1) the coordination of technical needs of athletes, officials and off-road race organizers
2) further development and growth of the Off-Road BC Cup Series
3) managing and servicing corporate sponsorship relationships
Both positions require a self-starter who excels with minimal supervision. The successful candidate must also be able to work efficiently and effectively in a team setting. Experience in competitive cycling, program development and sponsorship are all considered strong assets.
Salary Range: $30,000 to $35,000; benefit package available.

General Manager.
Responsible to the Board of Directors, the General Manager administers the growth and development of Cycling British Columbia, organizes and manages the business systems and processes of Cycling BC, and ensures sound financial management, while working within and towards Cycling BCs mission statement.
The successful candidate will have, among other qualities:
* experience in the not-for-profit sector
* proven budgeting and financial planning skills
* strong team leadership skills
* knowledge in competitive sport
* minimum four years management experience
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
1. Human Resources- managing an office staff of five in addition to volunteers.
2. Financials: preparing budgets, cashflow and related financial reports, reviewing and approving accounts payable and payroll, performing reconciliations of accounts as well as monitoring and evaluating accounting systems.
3. Implementing Board policy and programs in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society.
4. Overseeing the maintenance of office facilities and services and ensuring sound office management.
