Mike Barry...... finally gets his new clothes
At the January training camp in California, many of the new US Postal team members were without uniforms. Michael Barry was wearing a borrowed jacket and Saturn shorts in published photos. Well, that problem has been resolved by the time the European camp in Spain started. Here is a photo of Michael as a Postie.

Sun Peaks, BC. - Sun Peaks Resort and Java Cycle are proud to announce that Sun Peaks has been awarded the honour of hosting the Tim Hortons National MTB Championships for the second year in a row! The event is scheduled to take place July 19 to 21, 2002 and will involve top Canadian riders competing for the title of national champion in the downhill, dual slalom and cross-country events.
The success of last year's mountain bike championships made Sun Peaks Resort the obvious choice to host this year's event. 'Sun Peaks is a great venue for hosting a national championship for a number of reasons; the courses, both the downhill and the x-country, are technical and challenging which the riders absolutely loved.' states Fiona Morrow, Canadian Cycling Association, Director of Marketing & Communications. 'The attitude of everybody at Sun Peaks was great, especially in catering to athletes. As well, the on-site amenities are very well suited to hosting an event such as the national championships. With the success of the 2001 championships we are looking forward to building on this very positive experience.' continues Morrow.
The organizing committee, which include representatives of Java Cycle and Sun Peaks Resort, are thrilled to be hosting an event of this calibre for the second year in a row. The success of last year's event netted chief race organizer Henry Pejril the Canada Cup Organizer of the Year Award.
The Tim Hortons National MTB Championships unite the strongest field of Canadian mountain bike riders once a year to compete for the title of 'national champion'. It is the most important event raced in Canada each year for cycling athletes. All potential national team riders must race at this event in order to be considered for the team. Selections for the national team, world championships and the Canadian Olympic Team are based on results of this event.
The Tim Hortons National MTB Championships will take place during the Canadian Mountain Bike Festival at Sun Peaks, an action-packed week filled with downhill clinics, mountain bike camps and dirt jump demonstrations, in addition to the Tim Hortons National MTB Championships.
