DBR's Beth Coates Severely Injured In Rock Climbing Accident
It is with great sadness and much hope, that Diamondback reports the following information concerning DBR rider Beth Coates. Though we are in the preliminary stages of receiving this information from the hospital, the following is known.
Beth Coates, one of DBR's top riders, suffered serious injuries, when she fell while rock climbing yesterday. Beth, who lives in Boulder, CO, is in serious condition, though not life threatening, and is paralyzed from the waist down. This paralysis may be caused by spinal shock and may only be temporary. Additionally, she has fractured vertebras' in her upper and lower back.
Beth is conscious and is scheduled for surgery in the next few days, at which time more information will be known on her short and long term conditions.
Please join the employees of Diamondback in your thoughts for her recovery. If you would like to send her a card or flowers, the hospital address is listed below. If you are sending flowers, please send them for Saturday delivery or thereafter. More information to follow as is made available by her family.

World Cup
We have just received the start list for the Grundig World Cup happening in Napa, California this weekend. There will be 24 Canadian men and 11 Canadian women on the start line for the Pro Elite races. Below is a list of some of the top riders and the Canadians listed in the starting lineup (note: the numbers assigned are based on finishing order in World Championships last year). The weather today is sunny and 16 degrees C. Rain was forecast this week, but so far it has not arrived. One interesting absence from the start list is Kirk Molday, who has still apparently not recovered from his recent illness.
