Women‚s Clinic Update (courtesy Lister Farrar)
The Women on Wheels Learn to Race program (in Victoria, B.C.) now has 22 women registered, and another 5 or so who intend to. Congrats to Sarah Williams , Steve Lund, Maureen Kelly, and Joanna Fox on the design and promotion of the program! Women interested in the course must register by Friday at the Y.
This is a last reminder of the COACHES MEETING tomorrow Thursday, April 2 at the YM-YWCA, 6-9:00 pm. The course plan, schedule of coaches, and general spirit of the course will be on the agenda. Coaches should come prepared to ride. There are about 8 coaches interested so far, but with the large number of riders, more coaches may be needed, depending on which coaches can do which sessions. A lead coach will be present at each session, and assistant coaches will be able to look for guidance from the lead coaches.
Any women interested in coaching in the course should attend the meeting. Coaches will be paid $30 per session. Coaches need not have certification this year, but must have good group riding skills. Experience in racing is preferred, but not required.
For more information on the coaches meeting, please call WOW Coordinator Sarah Williams at (250) 480-7272 or Assistant National Team coach Steve Lund at (250) 744-1385.
Australian Tour
We have very little news on this womens event. The national squad of Kim Langton, Cybil DiGuistini, Annie Gariepy and Sophie St Jacques, plus Clara Hughes on Saturn, are competing in the race, but the only thing that we have heard is that Jeanne Longo won the first stage, with Hughes finishing 4th (3rd in a chase group of 3). We would appreciate receiving any updates that people might have.

The Morning News
For those of you who weren‚t sure - yes, the postings this morning were April Fools Day jokes... So, as far as we know, Linda Jackson is not moving to Whistler, we are not buying the CCA (although this one got some very positive responses!) or opening a U.S. service, and Valerie Davidge is not paying people to go in her races! One reader told us about an April Fools joke in Victoria, BC by the local TV station, who reported that the Commonwealth Games were returning to Victoria after having been dropped by Kuala Lumpur!
