The Provincial government wants to take down the signs indicating Henderson Highway as a bicycle route. This is because Henderson Highway apparently does not meet the criteria developed for bicycle routes; it is not wide enough and has cars parked on it occasionally. Please write, call or fax the Minister of Highways to protest this change! His address is: The Honourable Glen M. Findlay Minister of Highways and Transportation 203 - 450 Broadway Ave. Winnipeg Manitoba R3C 0V8 or fax him at 204-945 7610

Chiappucci Out of Giro
Italian pro Claudio Chiappucci is the latest rider to fall victim to the new tough UCI regulations designed to combat the use of EPO. He was tested at the Tour of Romandie and, after testing above the maximum, faces a 15 day suspension. This would put him out of the Giro d‚Italia. His team is looking into the result.
