Track Nationals Registration Online
Online registration has been activated for the National Track Championships. Please note that the cost increases by $15 after July 1st and registration ends July 9th. Riders should select their category (Open Men, Masters Women, etc.) and complete the registration, including credit card payment information. They will then be contacted by e-mail to determine which events they intend on entering. It is very important that participants realize that they are NOT registered unless they include valid credit card information for payment. Go directly to the secure registration page Here.

Bicycle Trek for Life & Breath
Sign up now for the Bicycle Trek for Life & Breath, a 200km weekend ride through a gorgeous stretch of the Fraser Valley on September 7 and 8, 2002. The event traditionally sells out, so the sooner you sign up, the better chance you have of taking part in the ride. You'll be riding with 300 new friends along the route - while raising funds for the British Columbia Lung Association's important lung health programs. For more information, visit the BC Lung web site at www.bc.lung.ca, or contact Ruby Campbell at 1-800-665-LUNG
Race Face Signs Darren Berrecloth
Vancouver, B.C. - Race Face Components Inc. is proud to announce the signing of BMX rider, Darren Berrecloth to its freeride team.
Hailing from Parksville, BC, Darren has made a name for himself as one of the hottest rising stars on the BMX scene, recently placing within the top-ten at the 2001 Gravity Games. Darren's sights are now set on securing a spot in the 2002 X-Games this August in Philadelphia.
"We're really excited to have a rider of Darren's caliber riding our components," says Race Face's Marshall Rutman. "BMX'ers have been riding our parts for a while now but it's always been an underground thing. This sponsorship is our first official foray into the BMX market."
Race Face has manufactured a MTB to BMX bottom bracket conversion kit, which allows Darren to run a North Shore ISIS crank and bottom bracket on his Diamondback BMX frame. He'll also be using a 2003 prototype headset.
Darren will be competing in the Glacier Shop Super Hit Contest - an invitation only dirt jump competition held at the base of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park on July 5th.

Roland Green to Race the Tour de Delta
One of the world's greatest cyclists, Roland Green of Victoria, will be riding hard in the Tour de Delta July 12, 13, 14, spurred on by his usual hyper-competitive spirit, his pride and a little extra incentive. If he can beat one of the strongest fields of the year in Canada, a victory, especially in the White Spot road race, July 14, would solidify his reputation as the best all around rider of his era. It would also achieve his goal of helping to establish the Tour de Delta as one of the major races in the country.
"That's one of the biggest reasons I'm coming to race," says the busy 27-year old who made Delta the only Canadian road race on a year long hectic schedule of mountain bike and time trial events that have him in a different part of the world almost every week. "I could have raced in Colorado the weekend of Delta but they're trying to put on a real professional event (in Delta) and I feel obligated to do what I can to get racing back on the road again. It's slipped a little in recent years but there's a lot of kids getting in at the grass roots level of cross country (mountain biking) and I hope we can attract some of them to the roads."
The 27-year old will be out to prove both sports are compatible by trying for rare back to back victories in a mountain and a road race on consecutive weekends in the greater Vancouver area. First he'll try to avenge a hard luck loss last year on Grouse Mountain. A flat tire cost him a certain victory in a World Cup x-country event. Then he'll race in all 3 events in the Tour de Delta. The Westshore Terminals hill climb July12th, the Lehigh Cement criterium July 13th, and the White Spot road race, July 14th. "I don't know about the road race. It could be tough with all those great riders coming. It all depends on the course. I know it's flat in Delta but if there are a few hills in there I might have a chance. I've got a good power to weight ratio. I can push it in the big gears so at least I should do okay in the hill climb, " he says modestly. Everyone else will be shocked if one of the most powerful riders and best climbers in the world doesn't cruise to victory.
