Ontario Track Championships Update

With the late addition of several Primary Sponsors the 2002 Ontario Track Championships are ready to go the weekend of July 27th (Saturday).

Competitors will compete in 4 disciplines. Individual TT (kilo or 500m), Sprints, Pursuit, Scratch race.

A prize list has been put together to benefit the riders in the amount of $50/event for each Category with a minimum of 5 riders entered in each event.

That represents a maximum cash payout of $200.00 per Category. The Cash will be awarded to the following Categories, Senior, Women, Masters, Juniors.

Should the entries fall short of the minimum number the prizes will be adjusted accordingly.

If everything goes to plan over $900.00 will be won, with every entry receiving recognition at the Award Ceremony at the end of the day following the Special non Championship Miss & Out event.

Championship Gold, Silver, Bronze medals will be awarded at the Ceremony for Seniors, Women, Masters. In addition Ontario Championship Shirts will be given to the Gold Medal winners.

Juniors will race for Omnium Points & receive plaques at a later date.

This is the first time in a long time Ontario track riders will be able to win $$$. Event Fee $20.00 (enter as many events as you wish, 1 fee)

Championship weekend begins late Friday with an open track session, Registration 8am - 9;15am. Racing begins 9:30am

This weekend the track league will hold an event to help tune riders up for the up coming Championships, racing begins at 10:30am Windel Park.

Starting next week, there will be a weekly racing series on the Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome that will run until the 10th of september.

The races begin at 6:30 pm and are held on Tuesdays at the Caisse populaire Dieppe velodrome. In case of rain, the events will take place on Thursday night.

There will be a sprint pyramid every week.

Come and participate in the 1st official racing series at the Caisse populaire Dieppe Velodrome.

Cost: 25$ for the series, 5$ to try a race. A special invitation is extended to all spectators.

A partir de la semaine prochaine, il y aura une série de course sur le Vélodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe.

Les courses débutent á 18h30, les mardis soirs au vélodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe. En cas de pluie, les courses seront remises au jeudi soir.
