Cyclist Qualifies for Duathlon Worlds

Last year's Canadian and Pan Am Champion in the junior female category, Martina Feldmann, turned some heads at the Canadian Duathlon Championship in Calgary. Martina, who missed the whole spring season because of graduation, surprised the multisport community after a dead heat race for first place with Winnipeg triathlete Amy Brisco.
After a controlled 5 km run with the top girls , Martina moved herself into the lead group with two Winnipeg girls. These two riders were working together, but finally Martina put the hammer down and destroyed the group, with only Brisco drafting the rest of the course to just hang on. A very fast change to the running section put Brisco ahead, but halfway into the run both girls were together and they sprinted in together. With this result Martina qualified for the World Championship in Alpharetta.
