Canadians win at the Eugene Festival

B.C. rider, Larry Zimich, riding for the Campione Racing Team/ Polar Heartrate Monitors scored an impressive victory in the 98km Eugene Festival Road Race held in Eugene, Oregon on Sept 21st.
After initiating a 6 man chase group which reeled in a 3 man break, the final 2 laps came down to a select group of 5 riders. With a 300m sprint Larry took the win. The following day saw the Skinner Bute Criterium take riders over a hilly course for 70 min. In a close sprint to the line Larry was narrowly beaten to the line and settled for 2nd.
Other riders to compete were Barbara Zimich who took 5th in the road race and 1st in the criterium for the woman's event. Category 4 saw B.C. rider Carey Squires dominate the two days and take the overall win in the process, while teammate Keith Tolhust finished 6th.
