Letter from Midweek Club

In response to accusations in the Forum, Peter McCaffery has asked us to publish the following letter

Since there is some misinformation circulating about the The Midweek Cycling Club Event Services trailer, purchased in 2000 with a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the club has confirmed that the timing and results system has been used for over 100 events in the last two seasons. Just over eighty of these events were run by the Midweek C.C. and the remainder were organized by a number of other Ontario clubs.

During 2001, the facility provided full timing and results services for:
Good Friday Road Race, Guelph
Hamilton downtown criterium
International Friendship Festival road race, Fort Erie
Provincial Road Championships, Effingham
Canal Days Criterium, Port Colbourne
National Road Championships, Woodstock,
Provincial Cyclo-cross Championships, Brampton
La Bicicletta Stage Race
20, La Bicicletta novice races
22, La Bicicletta midweek criteriums

All revenue generated by the trailer was returned to the Midweek C.C. and was used for storage rental, contents insurance and some transportation and entry money for our teams.

We think you will agree, along with the Trillium Foundation, that this is an excellent use of their grant to the club.
