Ottawa - The Canadian track team is set to take to the track this weekend in Aguascalientes, Mexico for the second leg of the UCI World Cup Classics. Lori-Ann Muenzer and Steen Madsen will both be competing in their second World Cup of the season, after participating in the first World Cup last month in Russia.

Muenzer, a double medallist at the World Championships in 2001 and a double medallist at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, is working her way back into top form after being sidelined with an appendectomy at the end of last season. She has been training for the last two months at the World Cycling Center in Switzerland under the careful eye of Frederic Magne, with hopes of returning to the podium at the World Championships in China later this summer. Lori-Ann will participate in the 500m Time Trial and the Sprint events.

Joining Lori-Ann in Mexico will be Erin Carter, winner of the silver medal in the Individual Pursuit at Nationals last year; Steen Madsen, the 2002 Canadian Sprint Champion; and the 2002 Canadian Madison Champions, Alexandre Cloutier and Martin Gilbert. Eric Van den Eynde is in charge of the team.
