Bikecrazie.com Ontario Cup Classic
Mosport International Raceway, Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada
April 20, 2003
This Sunday, April 20th marks the return of the Bikecrazie.com Ontario Cup Classic at Mosport International Raceway. Mosport is a world class facility which has hosted all forms of motor racing over the years including Formula 1. The 4km road circuit is ideal for a bicycle race with a mixture of twists, turns and rolling terrain on a well paved closed circuit.
At 132km the Senior 1-2 Men's event is a good early season test. Last year saw Commonwealth Games Mountain Bike Silver medalist Seamus McGrath out for some road miles early in the year. The Senior Women's race is also a good test at 80km. The Senior 3 men, Junior Men, Master A men and Master B/C/D men will also race 80km while the Cadets and Junior women will do 50km.
The event is open to anyone with a UCI license or people can purchase a one day license for an additional $10.
There will be a draw for a 3 month silver coaching package valued at $297 from CoachChris.ca. Make sure you fill in your ballet at registration to enter. There will also be a draw for a pair of Pearl Izumi Vortex road shoes valued at $199. This will be a draw for all people entered in the race.
Sponsors of the event include Mosport International Raceway, Eagle.ca, Bicycles Plus (Oshawa), Pearl Izumi, CoachChris.ca and Mill Valley Water.
Colortech Motorsport Photography will be on hand to capture the event and will be selling special Photo CD albums of the event. Their office is right beside registration.
Currently the bikecrazie.com website is having technical difficulty but should be back up within 24 hours. Until then the site will be mirrored at www.bikecrazie.ca.
