Canadian Virtual Velodrome Challenge
Courtesy Dan Proulx
A new program will help Juniors know how they compare to their peers from across the country!
The Canadian Virtual Velodrome Challenge will compile Junior performances from across the country. The performances will be used in a published ranking that will appear on Canadian Cyclist each month.
The program will assist young Canadian riders by:
1) Motivating current junior track athletes to improve their times throughout the season
2) Encourage junior road, mountain bike and BMX racers to try the track and compare times
3) Provide incentive to young riders who are not able to compete at Nationals or travel beyond their local velodrome
4) Talent identification
5) Athlete tracking based on recorded performances for riders who race from a young age to the elite level
6) FUN! FUN! FUN!

Athletes can register times from training and racing. The times must be taken by an official or coach. Boys and girls compete over the same distances.
