Tour de France
Alessandro Petacchi (Fassa Bortolo) has taken his second stage win at the Tour today, and Jean-Patrick Nazon (Jean Delatour) has taken over the Yellow Jersey from Bradley McGee (FDJeux.com) in today's 168 kilometre stage from Charleville-Mezieres to Saint-Dizier.
As expected, an early breakway by Anthony Geslin (Brioches La Boulangere) gained a maximum gap of 3:30 before being reeled in. Nazon took the Yellow by 8 seconds with intermediate time bonus sprint wins. FDJeux.com might have hoped to transfer the jersey from McGee to their sprinter Baden Cooke (only 4 seconds back), but both Cooke and Green Jersey leader Robbie McEwen (Lotto-Domo) were delayed by a crash when Rene Hasselbacher (Gerolsteiner) ran into the back of them as they were bumping elbows in the final 300 metres.
