National Cycling Centre- Atlantic Canada Announces Team for Tour de l'Abitibi

The National Cycling Centre- Atlantic Canada is pleased to announce the members of the Dieppe Auto Volkswagen Selection, which will represent the Centre at the Tour de l'Abitibi, from July 21- 27 2003.

Christian Meier (Sussex, NB)
Kirk Emery (Sussex, NB)
Justin St-Onge (Amherst, NS)
Christopher Dunbar (Hantsport, NS)
Zach Garland (St-John's, NFLD)
Ryan Belliveau (Campbellton, NB)

The riders will cover close to 600km at an average speed of 44km/h with some of the best junior riders in the world at this world Cup event.

The selection's objective will again be to develop and learn. With three veterans from last year's edition (Meier, St-Onge and Emery), it will certainly help the team, as they will share their experience with the new riders.

It takes many years to develop a tradition and enough depth to compete for the top spots in a race like the Tour de l'Abitibi, but we are certainly on the right track, says Luc Arseneau, head coach of the Centre.

Luc Arseneau, head coach at the Centre, and Donald Dumas, Mecano, will be travelling with the Team at the Tour.


Le Centre national de cyclisme- Canada atlantique est heureux d'annoncer les membres de l'équipe de la sélection Dieppe Auto Volkswagen qui se rendront au Tour de l'Abitibi, du 21 au 27 juillet. Voici les athlètes qui représenteront le Centre :

Les cyclistes couvriront près de 600 km, à des vitesses de 44 km / H avec les meilleurs coureurs du monde, lors de cette coupe du monde.

L'objectif de la sélection est de développer et d'apprendre. Avec trois vétérans de l'an dernier, (Meier, Emery et St-Onge) , ils sauront partager leur expérience avec les autres membres de l'équipe.

Cela prend plusieurs années à développer une tradition et suffisamment de profondeur pour être parmi les meilleurs, et nous sommes sur la bonne voie avec ce groupe de coureurs, dit Luc Arseneau, entraîneur chef du Centre.

Luc Arseneau, ainsi que Donald Dumas, mécano de l'équipe, se rendront au Tour avec l'équipe.
