Trish Sinclair (Kona) 14 Race News: - Caroline Alexander (Ritchey) broke her clavicle before the start of the race. This leaves Canadian Chrissy Redden (who recorded her best ever finish at Mont Snow) as the only female Ritchey rider on the circuit. - There were only 36 finishers, an indication of how tough the course was, and how much the heat affected some riders. International Women‚s Challenge This stage race, considered the toughest in women‚s cycling, begins today. We will provide daily results updates. One tidbit: Clara Hughes, the winner in 1994, has withdrawn from the race due to a lingering flu (which also kept her out of the Corestates).
