Haro Canada Signs Tyler Clarke

For the 2004 season, Tyler will be competing in Canada Cup BMX races, the Nationals, and all other major Western Canadian BMX races. Tyler's versatility and keen desire to compete will also mean he'll be throwing it down at the BC Cup 4X series and Joyride event in Whistler. 

It's for good reason that Tyler is known as "the hawk". With an arsenal full of recent major titles like the 2003 National BMX Champion, 2003 BC Supercup Provincial Champion, 2003 King of Bikes Champion, and a 3rd place overall title in the Canada Cup BMX Series, "the hawk"‰ is always perched and ready to pounce on potential prey. Tyler's co-sponsors include SHIFT, Cti2, and Groove Graphix.


Hugo Donais Re-Signs with the Norco Factory Team

Athlete Testing in Hamilton

On Saturday December 6th the National Cycling Center Hamilton (NCCH) tested 31 athletes. With a huge coaching staff on hand to assist, 4 riders at a time were wattage tested on the computrainers.

It was a hard day of training and afterwards, I think, everyone was very impressed with the way it was laid out and organized. Cheers to all the coachesof the McMaster Training Center. Thanks also to Rob Good of the Waterloo Cycling Club, Michael Moore of Gears Racing Team, and Mark Cleland of the McMaster Cycling Team who volunteered their time to make this event a success!

Three Days of Track Racing in Burnaby

Canadian National Cycling Champions to race in Burnaby as winter Track Cycling season gets underway

On Friday, January 9, some of the top cyclists from BC, Alberta and the Western United States will begin three days of track racing in Burnaby at North America's only indoor velodrome. The competition will give local riders and National team members a chance to test their skills as they begin their preparation for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics.

Among the races featured are :
• Mass start, sprint and timed events
• Points races - 100 laps, point sprints every 10 laps
• Miss-n-outs - sprints every 2nd lap, last place rider eliminated
• Keirins - Japanese style racing behind a pace bike

All racing takes place at the Burnaby Velodrome, a 200-metre wooden track, located inside the Harry Jerome Sports Centre near SFU, featuring hair-raising 47 degree corners and lots of opportunities for dramatic photos and visuals. For more information, visit www.burnabyvelodrome.ca
