We in the cycling community have lost a great supporter and enthusiast. Ron Marat passed from complications due to an ongoing battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday January17th at MCCALL Bros. Funeral Directors located at 1400 Vancouver Street in Victoria. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Canadian Cancer society.

Ron had spent many years competing and being involved as a volunteer in this sport we love so much, he has helped at many International, National, Provincial events including the Montreal Olympics and the Edmonton Commonwealth Games. Those are just a few I know about, he has spent the last few years in Victoria helping out at the track and being involved with local vet's cycling. Ron will be missed by all.
