Richard Howes won the first 16 km Baldonnel time trial of the season, Thursday night. His time of 27:44 was 45 seconds faster than second place Pat Ferris. Eric Lowry won the 8 km event with 13:42 minutes. Twenty-one riders came out on a cool but relatively calm evening. Coming up: Sunday is a Pineview to Upper Pine and return road race. Start time is 2:00 pm.

Velodrome Work Day - Michigan

This Saturday, April 3, will be a work day out at the velodrome from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

There is some work that is needed to be done on the guardrail which will require a little sanding and touchup.

Also, it is important to make sure that there are no drainage issues.

If the weather is nice, which it is supposed to be, then the track will be open for volunteers to ride.

The 2003 CycleLogik Racing Team represented its sponsors at 85 events in 4 provinces, and collected 79 podiums and 21 victories! In 2004, the Catena Networks CycleLogik Racing Team will be competing in events regionally, provincially and nationally within Canada, as well as select US events.

About the Catena Network CycleLogik Racing Team

The Catena Networks CycleLogik Racing Team is a Provincial Trade Team based in Ottawa that aims to develop and deliver a complete competitive cycling program through racing, race organization, rider development and community involvement. The Team is proud to be associated this year with Catena Networks, an Ottawa telecommunications firm lending its support and the team's new crimson and blue colours to the team for 2004!

The 2004 edition of the team is made up 18 athletes, racing in the elite and expert classes in road, mountain bike and cyclocross. In addition to reaching the podium in regional, provincial and national events the team has placed a focus on building a junior race program complete with a mentor program and sponsorship support as a way to keep building the Ottawa and overall bike-racing scene.

Ride for the Rouge

Please accept this invitation to join the 11th annual Ride for the Rouge Bicycle Challenge.

This is an event the whole family can participate in and enjoy. And it's a great way to stretch your legs in preparation for a busy season of biking, hiking, paddling or whatever interests keep you busy. Plus, you'll be supporting a valuable cause.

Starting at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre overlooking the valley, you can choose either our 25 km or 50 km route. From the historic Pearse House, the route meanders through quiet streets on its way to Rouge Beach on Lake Ontario. From there, the route takes you up the opposite side of the valley and through some of the last remaining farmland in Toronto. It concludes back at Pearse House, across from the world famous Toronto Zoo.

After the ride, stay and enjoy a complimentary barbecue lunch and entertainment while you meet and greet fellow cyclists and nature lovers. You're also invited to take a guided hike in the park. And there's lots of prizes to be won for pledges and participation including a VIA Rail pass for two, bicycle accessories and much more.
