Quebec Cycling Legend Evariste Lavoie Passes Away
From Le Soeil
Quebec cycling has lost a legend. Evariste Lavoie passed away at the age of 78. He died in his sleep during the night, Monday to Tuesday.
On Monday he went for a bike ride. During the Grand Prix de Beauce, we saw him at the top of Mont Megantic, just like we saw him every year, urging the cyclists on. He himself had climbed the Mont Megantic on his bike. His last exploit was last year when he biked across the United States, a ride that took him 4 months to complete.
