Canada Cup #4 - Mont Tremblant, Québec
(courtesy Natalie Sahl)
The xc took place on Saturday. The course was just shy of 6km, with Pro Men doing 7 laps and Women 6. The first part of the course was climbing on single track over roots, rocks and lots of mud. The second part was loose rocky open descents and the last part took the racers through the Tremblant ski resort and up main street on the cobbles! It had rained on and off the few days preceeding the event, making the first section "hike-a-bike" for some of the racers. There were some infrequent showers during the race.
The winner of the Pro Men's race was Ryder Hesjedal with a winning time of 2:09:04. Ryder is a junior rider who has upgraded to Senior.

The downhill was on Sunday. Over 300 competitors were registered! An excellent turnout. The weather was sunny and clear. Because of rain in the previous days, forest sections of the DH course were comprised of mud. Black, sticky mud!
