Ontario Cup #5 Buckwallow Cycling Centre, Muskoka
August 7 & 8, 2004
It was a great weekend of racing for over 500 competitors at the Buckwallow Cycling Centre in Muskoka. With the regular champions away at the Canada Cup some new riders emerged at the front of this exciting race. Taking the Elite Men's competition was Mike Garrigan, a former National Team Member who made his debut after over 1 year of injury, followed by AO Bikes and Boards' Greg Edgar and Matthew Fawcett rounding out the top 3. The women's race saw Stephanie Martinek take the win over Heather Morrissey and the Elite Racing Association's Diana Joness in 3rd. Cameron Jette of the Epic Ride won the Junior Expert Men's race with Shannon Everist of AO Bikes and Boards taking the Junior Expert Women's race.
The Short Track race was also exciting with Greg Edgar taking the win in the men's race, and Stephanie Martinek making it a sweep on the weekend.
Congratulations to all competitors and thanks for the support of our title sponsor Bonham & Co., all of our associate sponsors, volunteers, staff and the fine work of the Buckwallow Cycling Centre in helping to create a wonderful event.
