Who needs the Olympics when you have the Ontario Summer Games?
If you can't make it to Greece come to London.......Ontario that is.
The Ontario Cycling Association is excited to once again have its members
participating at the Ontario Summer Games.
The games will be held from August 19th to August 22nd in London, Ontario. These games will mark a resurgence of cycling as 10 clubs/14 teams of 56
riders in total will compete in three events at Boler Mountain Ski Club in London.
The riders, selected by OCA affiliated clubs/teams, are between the ages of thirteen to sixteen. The Ontario Summer Games is part of the High Performance Program preparing young cyclists for participating at the next Canada Summer Games in 2005. The riders will compete in a Mountain Bike Time Trial at 10 AM on Friday, a Mountain Bike Team Relay at 12 PM on Friday and a Mountain Bike Cross Country race at 10 AM on Saturday. Medal presentations will follow the XC race on Saturday at approximately 12pm.
The Ontario Summer Games, founded in 1970, is a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation and the city of London. The games rotate every two years throughout the province and is considered a gateway for future Canada Games athletes.
The OCA cordially invites all to watch and cheer on our athletes. Special thanks to commissaires Swatty Wotherspoon and Michelle Stevenson for officiating and to Tim Oliver and his crew for designing and setting up the courses at Boler Mountain. We wish all the athletes the best of luck.
