OrganicAthlete Launches British Columbia Regional Cycling Team

OrganicAthlete is founding a regional team in British Columbia Canada for the 2005 season. OrganicAthlete supports grassroots teams around the world with a mission to promote healthy living, ecological responsibility, and compassion for all life. The organization welcomes cyclists of all levels to join the club and is currently accepting resumes for an elite level team based out of Victoria.

2005 Membership Fees - Insurance increase
As foresehadowed in the last Quick Release news bulletin, the CCA has now confirmed that insurance rates will increase by approximately $2 per rider for 2005. Cycling BC's Membership fees will reflect this increase starting December 1, when prices will be adjusted at Karelo.com and 2005 Membership forms will be mailed to households. Get in quick for the best savings - remember the 10% earlybird discount applies until Dec 15 2004, 5% discount from Dec 16 to Jan 31, 2005.
2005 Club & Team Affiliation Packages
Forms and info will be released over the next week - keep an eye on the Cycling BC website. Fees for 2005 will be as follows:
Provincial Trade Team - $250
Supporting Business - $75
Club Affiliation - $150
Associate (Club) Rider - $26
PacificSport Bronze Cards - Deadline November 24th
It is PacificSport Bronze Program intake time again. There are 6 Road, 9 Track and 19 Cross-country positions available.
Athletes must fulfill the identified criteria.  Unfortunately, the PacificSport program caters only to Olympic disciplines, therefore downhill athletes are not eligible for this program.
Hopeful candidates must include detailed results that identify and speak to all posted criteria. Submissions can be sent to road(at)cycling.bc.ca. Deadline for submission is noon, Wednesday, November 24th.

NCCP Road Level 1 Coaching Course added: Vancouver, Nov 27-28.
An extra NCCP Road Technical Level 1 course has been scheduled for this weekend in Vancouver.
Sign up now at . Don't delay - the course needs a minimum of 6 to go ahead, so book early.

Fundraiser for Ryan MacDonald - Cycling BC member & 2005 Deaflympic hopeful
Ryan has recently quailified to compete in the event and will be holding a fundraiser to cover repolacement rims, tires, bike parts and travelling expenses.
Date:  Saturday December 4
Venue: Cat and Fiddle Pub, Port Coquitlam
Tickets: $10 including a burger, beverage and door prize entry
If you are unable to make the event, a $10 donation gets you a ticket for the major prize (to be announced).
