Calgary New Year's Day Ride
It was interesting to read about the New Years Day ride in Fort St John, having lived there from 1966 to 1975. It does get cold.
The Calgary CrankMasters have an annual New Years Day Ride in North Glenmore Park at High Noon. The meeting place is in the outer parking lot of the Calgary Rowing Club.
The temperature is forecast to be around -20 Deg C so if Ft.St.John gets a plus 5 or even a minus 5 it will be positively balmy.
We will ride 1, 2 or more 5 km laps of the park, depending on how lucky we get with the weather. In Calgary we always say "wait 5 minutes and the weather will change". If unlucky the distance will be shorter (basically dependent on how fast things freeze up).
Wear your snuggies and come for a bracing New Years Day ride.
