IMBA Seeks Communications Coordinator
The International Mountain Bicycling Association seeks a full-time communications coordinator to support a wide range of communication activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate IMBA's bi-monthly newsletter, IMBA Trail News.
Research, write, and edit press releases, action alerts, eNewsletters, and other IMBA communications materials.
Update and maintain sections of the IMBA website and CRM system.
Prepare and produce materials for mailings, outreach projects, and field events.
Strengthen media relationships.
Support local and regional grassroots communications efforts.
Collaborate with IMBA staff, contractors, printers, and other vendors on communications projects.
Collect and organize IMBA media coverage and photo archives.
Develop and maintain databases and email lists.
Respond to general email inquiries.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and at least two years experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent research, editing, and proofing abilities.
Proven ability to develop and implement strategic communications efforts.
Ability to frame messages to effectively build constituent support.
Well-organized and innovative, with ability to work on deadline.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases, photo editing, desktop publishing, and graphic design applications on Macintosh platform.
Website development and maintenance experience.
Knowledge of mountain biking, recreation, and land management issues desirable.
Ideal candidate is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for mountain biking.
ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
The International Mountain Bicycling Association is a non-profit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance, and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide. Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trailwork participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy, and innovative trail management solutions.
IMBA's headquarters are located in Boulder, Colorado, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. There are currently 22 staff members and 9 volunteer board members.
SALARY
Starting salary is high 20s. Medical, dental, and deferred compensation plan offered.
