Forest City Velodrome
Photos
On Thursday afternoon the Volunteers that have put many hours into getting the Forest City Velodrome ready for riders turned the first laps of the 138 metre indoor Velodrome in London Ontario.
Many of the participants have just begun training so they can compete on a weekly basis at the track. All riders took the Learn to Ride program. This orientation is a must for all first time riders to the London track.
We are anticipating a near sellout for the opening night of racing on Saturday. The action begins at 7pm. All divisions will be racing on opening night of the London Track League. Racers are coming from Montreal, Detroit, Toronto, Wisconsin, and Savanna Georgia.
We suggest that you arrive early for the best seats (general admission), also because construction has just been completed bring a blanket or set cushion to sit on "just in case". There might be a little dust from the track. The concession will be open, Coffee mugs & T-shirts will be for sale with the winning Logo from our Contest that concluded 2 weeks ago. You can support the riders by purchasing a 50/50 ticket as the proceeds go to the riders for travel expenses. We will be continuing to sell tickets for the Custom Made Track bike from Winterborne Custom Bicycles in Guelph. The tickets are $10.00 each or opening special of 4 for $20.00.
Photos are from Thursday night at the Velodrome.
