Trackfest '05 happens at the Juan de Fuca Velodrome in Victoria BC on May 28th, 3pm-8pm.
Trackfest is a spectator-focused track cycling event made up entirely of fast and furious bunch races designed to thrill the crowd. We are holding Trackfest '05 on the same weekend as the Victoria Cycling Festival to capitalize on the riders coming in from out of town who are looking for an alternative to the long road race out in Sooke on Saturday morning. We expect riders and spectators from Calgary, Vancouver, Washington and Oregon as well as from all over Vancouver Island.
We are currently being co-sponsored by Lighthouse Brewing and Ali Baba's Pizza. There will be food, beverages, entertainment and expert race commentary. In the purse will be $1000 cash, plus there will be a raft of primes. Races include crowd pleasers like the Chariot Race and the Points Race. Trackfest '05 is going to be a BLAST! We expect more than 50 competitors, about 30 volunteers and a couple hundred spectators to be in attendance.
